Now the engineer says even though his fan is running good his temps are still 5 - 9* F too high. He is thinking of paint now. haha! We all have been down that road before. Once he paints it, his temps will drop back a couple of degrees, but still be too warm. The next step would be to add a chimney for the heat to escape...Is it worth all the frustration?

The "solution" (if any) will eventually have to come from Acurite. That's why I keep advising people to return their defective equipment.
If the problem were simple, it would have been found by now.
