There are a couple of acurite stations around me, and all of them must have bad fans because they get kicked off WU everyday. Why does Acurite continue to sell stations with bad fans? Why not change completely to a fan that works? It creates problems for the user, and them! But most importantly the owner, who will be disappointed if they know anything about their environment.
I still am waiting for Acurite to design individual sensors so I can break away from the all in one. I will be first in line to buy these. If my current equipment dies before this, I will be buying something else.
I hear ya. So far my 5 in 1 is working great with the exception of temperature spikes during the summer, but I did look around last night at other stations with separate sensors. I used to have a WMR200a which I liked, but it didn't make the move with me to my new home 5 years ago. They have a WMR300, but I did not like the reviews. Other than Lacrosse, I didn't see anything else that's really reliable outside of the Davis brand...unless you go way up there to Rainwise and such. I still have my Oregon Scientific control panel, but by the time I'd purchase the individual sensors to go with it, it would cost the same as buying a whole new set up.
Hopefully my current location of my sensor works and that Acurite is able to send me the updated motor assembly.
