I bought temp/humidity sensors. I tried setting humidity to local weather station. Sensor One exceeded +20 units and Sensor Two went the other direction like -15 units. Sensor One is about 7 units from matching local station. I'm think in setting both at the same setting even if it's incorrect but at least they both will be reading the same humidity. Any suggestions on another way to handle this problem or will AcuRite replace my sensor?
You should calibrate your sensors locally, not with other weather stations. There are too many variables, particularly with humidity.
One way to calibrate humidity sensors is to place them in a sealed container with some water saturated table salt. The salt needs to be fully saturated without any standing water. This will create a 75% RH environment for calibration.
There are number of videos on youtube describing how to do this. It's commonly done to calibrate sensors for humidors.
If I remember correctly, the tower sensors should be within +/- 5 percentage points. Any further than that, and you might have a warranty claim.
