As mentioned the 5n1 should be installed in full sun. Any shade would likely mess up the fan aspiration system resulting in temperature spikes. Shade would also likely mean incorrect rain and wind readings.
The general advice of putting a sensor in the shade is for a sensor that has no shielding from the sun. In the case of Acurite, I've found their unshielded tower sensor can read as much as 10F degrees higher than it should in direct sunlight. YMMV.
