I've just about talked myself into trying a raspberry pi, since I have my 5 in 1 working better than I could have ever imagined, but I have no idea how to write code. I hope I can make sense of the instructions that others have made available. It's all new to me. The pi seems like a really nice solution, at a low cost, and will send my information to the channels I want to share with. What I do understand is that I plug the ethernet from the acurite bridge into the pi, and then I guess use a wireless antenna (dongle?) to make the connection to the internet from my router. I have one of those. This is after I install all the code and downloads. I wondered if I could also use the USB of the pi to the USB on my router, as it has a USB port.
Now to program the pi for weewx, and the tcp downloads, do I just hook the USB up to my Windows PC, or do I use ethernet from my router to the pi and hook up to my HDTV so I can see what I'm doing. Also I assume I need to hook up the keyboard I use for the Dell Windows.
I want to understand the basics as much as I can before I order something. Also I like the fact that the pi can be used with other wx stations if I decide to ever change.
