thanks for the quick confirmation...I can certainly do "something" fairly quickly that should reduce most of the issue. If I had thought of it at first I would at least have gotten a 4x4 instead, but this is what makes a newbie a newbie...
right now the ground is frozen pretty solid so my options are probably limited but maybe the guy wire would work and be doable...i only want to invest in a quick fix since i'm not sure it will stay there permanently and frankly its freakin' cold out now for the next 2 months...
next step - get my internet bridge hooked up to weather underground, and deploy the two other sensors and hook them in (I got two of the simple temp/humidity sensors), but I want to take this one step at a time and make sure the part i've done is working correctly before moving on, so that I don't get too many moving parts to fix all at once.
