Thanks for the review!! It sounds great. Might have to put it on my bday wish list.Is it always illuminated or is there a button like on the blue unit? I'm just wondering if it's something that can be kept in my TV room without being too distracting if the lights are off..
When it is plugged in (recommended in the manual) the light is always on, but it isn't nearly as obtrusive as the blue screen on the old one. Only the numbers/letters illuminate. If you just go with the battery power and press the light button, the screen lights up for 10 seconds. With no light n there is nothing to see at all. With it plugged in you have 4 choices for the light intensity: 100, 60 and 30 percent plus a fourth setting Auto Dim which automatically adjusts the brightness based on the time of day and date.
