Going to Plan B (MeteoBridge/USB)

At 4:00 AM Friday morning, my 5-in-1 sensor decided to become anti-social.  It was 2 F outside, chilly but not abnormal this winter. The bridge stopped feeding 5-in-1 data to MBW, and all three...

Re: Going to Plan B (MeteoBridge/USB)

Interesting, well good luck either way. Ive been using meteobridge for about 2 yrs now and apart from about two incidents, mostly due to errors in setting of the wifi network due to changing of modem,...

Re: Going to Plan B (MeteoBridge/USB)

I am almost a year into a Aculink bridge-to-Meteobridge and no issues whatsoever.  I even moved the whole shebang into the basement and it all works fine, even radio reception.

Re: Going to Plan B (MeteoBridge/USB)

MeteoBridge and the Acu-Rite network bridge were bulletproof for 6 months.  The only gotcha was that MBW going offline occasionally caused lost data because MB had nothing to sniff.MB didn't seem like...

Well for 60 bucks...    The only thing I notice is the occasional baro spike.  It shows up on WU but not on MBW.

Re: Solar shield for Acurite basspro shops weather station

I have been hunting for some white plates, or plant saucers of some kind. I think I am going to end up spray painting some gray, or brown ones that I found for $1.25 each. The cheapest manufactured...

Re: Solar shield for Acurite basspro shops weather station

I did buy the ambient shield about 4 years ago and it's worked great. I agree $40 is a bit pricey but it has lasted through some tough seasons and all I do is take it down once a year and wash the...

Of course not though 24 hour fans are supposed to help, not in the direction I want at night though.

AcuLink reception

My bridge is 25 feet away from my 5 in 1 and the dashboard is showing 1 bar of reception?  I have the bridge at a window facing the 5 in 1 sensor.  Its really odd.  I also have some older tower sensors...

Re: AcuLink reception

Aculink Bridge reception seems to suck.  I have mine in a basement window, 20 feet away from the 5-1 and I get one bar.  But it still works.

Re: AcuLink reception

Sounds like my exact setup. Basement, 25 feet away by a window and one bar. When I typed my original message, the one tower had zero reception, now 3 bars.  Makes no sense.

Re: AcuLink reception

I have 3 bars. Try turning the unit where the base is vertical and the antenna is horizontal. I have mine hanging from a hook on a windowsill so that the bottom of the bridge is flat to the wall with...

Re: AcuLink reception

Is the "hinge" of the antenna up or down?  I guess I'll have to figure out some setup to get mine to stay like that.

Re: AcuLink reception

hinge is not quite alll the way up, or horizontal (flat)

Re: AcuLink reception

Folding mine to a 45 degree angle gave me another bar on the 5-1, but nothing more on the tower in the garage.  Oh well.  It still talks.

Here's a photo of the inside.  There's a space for an RH sensor on the left, but it isn't there. This is a different board layout than my original tower.  This one has a date almost two years older than...
