The aspirator motor is running quietly this morning 50 degrees with 43 overnight low and the sun is coming out . Perhaps it has been moisture trapped between the motor and lip of the fan throwing it...

Check with Harbor Freight to see if they have anything cheaper for "donor" solar panels.  They have a lot of solar-powered outdoor stuff, and some of it is even 3V DC.....
